Where the others win
- Battery: every one of them runs longer per charge than Mini Mic Pro’s 6 hours. DJI is the longest at about 11.5 hours.
- Range: DJI and Hollyland claim more distance in the open. Indoors, every wireless mic loses range to walls and bodies.
- Weight: theirs are lighter, between about 7 and 12 g a mic.
- Cameras: DJI includes a camera cable, and RØDE and Hollyland sell camera receivers. Mini Mic Pro is for phones, tablets and computers only.
- Adjustable noise reduction: DJI and Hollyland let you change or switch it off in their apps.
Where Mini Mic Pro wins
- Price: $24.99 for two mics, roughly a quarter to a third of the others.
- Both connectors in the box: USB-C and Lightning, so it works on every iPhone, old or new, plus Android, iPad and computers.
- Nothing to install, ever. There is no app, no Bluetooth and no settings; plug in, wait for green, record.
- Long sessions: the charging-case kit adds up to 50 hours.
- Free replacement clips, foam tips and windshields; you only pay shipping.
Which should you buy?
- You also film on a camera: DJI Mic Mini (camera cable included) or a RØDE/Hollyland kit with a camera receiver.
- You record all day without a break: DJI Mic Mini for the battery.
- You want the lightest, least visible mic: Hollyland Lark M2S.
- You record on phones, want it to just work, and don’t want to spend $100: Mini Mic Pro.
- Your household has old and new iPhones: Mini Mic Pro, the only one with both connectors in the box.
